Erna Hoof Estate

Erna Hoof Estate

A thoughtful bequest from the late Erna Hoof of Glencoe, Minn., was designated for United's student loan fund. Erna's bequest doubled the amount in the student loan fund at the time, substantially augmenting the capacity of the seminary to provide low-interest loans to students for tuition and expenses. The loan fund provided an important supplement to United's various scholarship grants.

The gift is an example of the importance of bequests in helping sustain the ongoing mission of the seminary. Bequests made through estate plans can be either unrestricted or, as in the case of Erna Hoof's bequest, designated for a particular purpose that responds to important needs, such as student loans, endowed scholarships, or general endowment. The bequests United has received over the years were vital to the development of the school and its support of students.

United deeply appreciates Erna's thoughtful support.
